Description

Franklin Rosemont’s sprawling book is less a biography, though he has examined everything published on Joe Hill and explores every aspect of his life, than an extended series of reflections on Joe Hill’s legacy. The Los Angeles Times said “Rosemont seems to have hunted down every available detail of Hill’s short life and abiding legend.”  Historian Peter Linebaugh described the book as “Magnificent, practical, irreverent, and (as one might say) magesterial, written in a direct, passionate, sometimes funny, deeply searching style.”

This is the PM Press reissue of the original Charles H. Kerr publication, with a new introduction by David Roedigger. 639 pages, paperback, issued at $29.95.
